Construction tenders on Vancouver Island
Explore government tenders and municipal contracts through the official procurement sources below. Browsing this guide is free and requires no Van Isle account. Van Isle does not list live tenders, verify deadlines or submit bids on your behalf.
Official places to look
- BC Bid — The Province of British Columbia's official site for public-sector opportunities, used by many ministries, Crown corporations and local bodies.
- CivicInfo BC — Bid Opportunities — A free listing of opportunities posted by BC local governments, including Island municipalities and regional districts.
- City of Victoria — Bid opportunities — The City of Victoria posts its opportunities through its Bonfire purchasing portal, linked from this page. Many other Island municipalities publish on their own websites, BC Bid or CivicInfo.
Always confirm documents, addenda and closing dates on the issuing organization's site.
Tips for smaller Island contractors
- Check whether a tender requires pre-qualification, bonding or a mandatory site meeting.
- Read every addendum; closing times are strict.
- Subcontracting to a general contractor who's bidding can be a good first step.
